Ranch Rules

Every year thousands of kids get into trouble…

because they have no structure and no purpose for their life.

All kids have a need to feel established, and valuable, they must know they are loved and understand their purpose for living.  To be productive citizens they must be able to fall down and get back-up again, to define and attain their goals.

It’s important that they learn how “not” to give-up while developing problem solving skills.

Close your eyes and dream with me for a moment…

think of a place where your kids are loved just as much as you love them, a place that offers physical and mental development for your son, daughter or grandchild.  Think of a place in your area that you know and you can trust the staff to enthusiastically make a difference in the life of your child or youth.

Marianna & Horse Kashi

The horse is a key that “unlocks” the path to a kid’s heart…

Animals and horses in particular, have long proven to have a magnetic attraction to kids.  Many of the principals we teach at VTYR are supported through the interactions between our angels in horse hair and the kids. The development of personal courage, determination, and compassionate caring for something or someone other than “me” are just a few of the character traits kids learn when they enroll in our riding program. The horse is a key that “unlocks” the path to a kid’s heart and provides motivation for them to succeed at “doing the difficult”.  Without our angles in horse hair, we would not have a successful program for kids.

We instruct, teach and coach by example…

At VTYR we are committed to helping the kids of the Rio Grande Valley become the best they can be.  We instruct, teach and coach by example, and by the examples set before them, kids choose the value system they will ultimately pursue.  This method of instruction offers hope, opportunity, reward and results!

You can help!

We are not short or lacking in our vision of building and promoting healthy and productive kids and horses.  Whether it’s our student riding program or the equine rescue program, both require consistent financial backing and support. Your regular monthly donation is critical to the provision of ongoing services at VTYR.

Nearly all of the Hidalgo County families that participate at VTYR, desire to contribute financially, many, however, can give only small amounts occasionally.  Hidalgo County, Texas is among the 25 poorest counties in the United States.

Please help us help them, by the giving of your generous monthly tax deductible donation!
