Sir Red, that’s my name but you can call me SR. If you think my name has anything to do with my color, you are right! I have a short reddish brown coat of hair. One fact that few know about me is my pedigree. I come from a very special group of Egyptian Arabian horses that are purebreds known as Straight Egyptian Arabians. My mother, father, and all my grandparents all the way back to biblical times have bred with only Straight Egyptian Arabians. So that makes me special and that’s why the humans call me, Sir!
Since coming to the ranch along with my horsy best friend LA, I have enjoyed many wonderful activities which keep me young. At least 4-5 times a week I get to carry a saddle on my back, riding in that saddle is a child or young adult that is just as special as I am. I try very hard to let them know how proud I feel when we are a team. Together we are special! I strut around with my tail and head held high… in perfect Arabian form.
To those that want to ride me, you must understand that sometimes, I get a little carried away. When I’m trotting or working beside another horse, some say I act as though I have to be in front of everyone. Guess it’s the race track training, yep I had a racing career when I was younger, and got the tattoo to prove it. So the humans that are retraining me to be calmer probably won’t let us team up unless you have a lot of riding experience.
