OUR HORSES
Anyone who has spent any amount of time with a horse knows the special bonding and healing that only happens in their peaceful, tranquil presence. Just like every Rancher who walks through our doors, each rescued horse at Valley Trotters Youth Ranch has an incredible story to tell.

Howdy, hello, hi! My friends around the racetrack came up with my awesome name many years ago, and it’s stuck with me! Although it’s been years since I competed, I’m still reminded of the stress racing had on my mind and body. Working with kiddos age 4-7 is my happy place and you’ll probably catch me there next time you’re at the Ranch!

Some call me BB, some call me Black Beauty. I am kind of a big deal here, and most would call me the alpha mare here at the Ranch. With that title comes a lot of responsibility! Like making sure others are aware when danger is near. Luckily, that doesn’t happen often, so I just get to be the boss and make the decisions around here because I can.

I’m the only pony at the Ranch – can you believe it?! I may be small, but big things come in little packages, right? I can hold my own against my bigger horsey friends and all the kiddos in our riding program, especially ages 8-18, love me!

My name is Jetson, but my friends call me Jet. I am a social butterfly who loves hanging out with the 8-18 riding group. I think I actually have more in common with the kiddos than with my furry Ranch friends, but don’t tell the pasture pals that.

Hey friends, I am Lilly! My beautiful blonde mane is a head-turner and the talk of the town around here. My days are made when I get to spend time with Ranch visitors! Also, the 8-18 riding group is my absolute favorite. They give the best scratches!

I know, I know. Age is nothing but a number, though, because I am still working like I was before many of my pasture pals were born! Early on in my career I worked in the Arkansas Penal System helping to reform prison inmates, but now I’ve moved on to working with children who have special needs. This is my happy place!

Whew! I am one busy horse! Not to brag or anything, but I probably have the heaviest workload at the Ranch, working three hours a day, several days a week. I like to eat (A LOT!) and lift weights in my spare time so I can be in tip top shape for my sessions with the kiddos!

I happen to be a bit more independent than most of my furry counterparts, but I still live with my mom (BB) at the Ranch, so I keep things in check. I’m a little different than the other horses, but in the best way possible!

Heya! I’m Sabhi. My friend Itzi Bitzi and I arrived at the same time through a rescue activity, and I’m now working hard on passing my certification so I can serve the kiddos in our riding program!

I’m the newest member of the Ranch but it didn’t take me long to realize that cattle and kids are my love languages! I’m working hard on completing my certification so I can serve all the kids in our riding program. I expect it to happen really soon and couldn’t be more excited!

I arrived at the Ranch a few months before Skippy and I think we’re going to be great friends! I am completing my certification and am so very excited to meet the kids soon.

Hi everyone, I’m JoJo! I am working on my certification with my friend Sabhi. Until then, I am the go-to horse that likes to make sure all the other horses in the east pasture remain fit and disciplined to serve the kiddos in our riding programs.
