Riding horses in Rio Grande Valley

What We Do

Connecting the Hearts of Horses and Children

As a nonprofit based in the Rio Grande Valley, our programs were created with both children and equine needs in mind. They’re specifically designed to benefit youth, strengthen families, and rehabilitate horses – a magic combination that helps our Ranchers build trust and learn skills that will last a lifetime.

Valley Trotters Youth Ranch Riding Programs

Riding Program   CHILDREN AGES 4-18

Our riding program is specifically tailored to build confidence, optimism, trust, and personal skill development in each child – helping them realize their full potential. Our riding program is unique in that it brings together one rider, who is paired with one horse and instructor. This ensures an optimal learning environment that fosters trust and growth.

Equine Rescue Programs in the Valley

Equine Rescue Program   "HORSEY PEOPLE" AGES 8-80

This program teaches volunteers the necessary skills to care for mild-to-moderately abused and mistreated horses. Equine Rescue Program participants learn how to provide excellent care in a comfortable setting to help restore each rescued horse to its most useful, healthy, and beneficial state.
